The State University of New York at Stony Brook University at the Long Island State Veterans Home (LISVH) will receive sealed bids for project number 091024BATHEXHAUST, titled Facility-Wide Bathroom Exhaust Systems until 3:00pm local time on October 30, 2024 at the Long Island State Veterans Home, 100 Patriots Road, Stony Brook, NY 11790 in the Purchasing Department of the East Pavilion., where such proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud. Proposals may be hand delivered or mailed to the above location and must be received at such time. Any proposals received, whether hand delivered or mailed, after the opening time will not be accepted and will be returned unopened to the Contractor. All work on this project is subject to New York State Prevailing Wages and Certified Payroll submission as per the New York State Department of Labor, PRC #2024011275, and is to be completed within five (5) years, starting ten (10) calendar days after the contract approval date.
The main features of the work shall include, but not be limited to, Facility-Wide Bathroom Exhaust Systems as part of a Department of Health corrective action plan (Base Bid) – furnish and install new exhaust fans and modify existing distribution ductwork, Add Alternate 1: VRF Ductless Split System Install on Unit 1D – furnish and install a VRF ductless split system in resident rooms in Unit 1D. The VRF system will replace existing PTAC units, Add Alternate 2: Facility-Wide Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Ionization to address HVAC System Modifications for COVID-19 preparedness in conjunction with Center for Disease Control guidelines – furnish and install code compliant indoor air quality modifications that may include, but not limited to, bipolar ionization filtration systems integral to the existing room PTAC units along with room-mounted UV-C scrubbers, Add Alternate 3: Negative Pressure Units in Nursing Units 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B to address HVAC System Modifications for COVID-19 preparedness in conjunction with Center for Disease Control guidelines – furnish and install new air handlers to create negative pressure units within the Home, Add Alternate 4: Negative Pressure Units in Nursing Units 1C, 1D, 2C, 2D, 3C and 3D to address HVAC System Modifications for COVID-19 preparedness in conjunction with Center for Disease Control guidelines – furnish and install new air handlers to create negative pressure units within the Home.
Project Budget is approximately $10,000,000
A mandatory walk-thru is scheduled for Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. local time, meeting at the front entrance lobby.

The Bid documents will be available for pickup at the walk-thru on Tuesday, September 24. The documents will be transferred/transmitted on a Flash Drive Only, with a complete hard set available for viewing at the Long Island State Veterans Home.
Bids must be submitted in duplicate in accordance with the instructions contained in the Information for Bidders. Security will be required for each bid in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the Total Bid. It is the policy of the State of New York and the State University of New York to ensure usage of Minority (MBE) and Women-Owned Business (WBE) enterprise participation in this project by contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and all bidders are expected to cooperate in implementing this policy in order for the LISVH to be in compliance with the Governor’s directive for increased participation of 20% (10% MBE, 10% WBE). A portion of the project funding is Veterans Administration related therefore requiring the completion and submission of Federal Debarment forms with each proposal. The State University of New York reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
