Summary of Revisions
Revisions to PON 3519 for Round 8 include:
• The PON Summary was updated to show the total available funding for Round 8 of $8 Million.
• The information for the previous round (round #, challenge areas, due dates) was removed from the table on pg.1 of the PON Summary and replaced with information for Round 8.
• A high-level summary of the PON was added to pg. 1 of the PON Summary.
• The concept paper due date column was added to the table on pg.1 of the PON Summary.
• The concept paper process was added for Round 8, along with references to concept papers in Section I, Section III, Section IV, Section V, and Section VIII.
• Section II – Innovation Challenge Areas was updated
o Challenge Areas 1 and 2 updated/added.
o Challenge Areas 3, 4, and 5 were removed.
• Designated Contacts were updated.
• Section IV – Proposal Requirements was renamed to Concept Paper & Full Proposal Requirements.
Attachment E1 (formerly E3) – Intelligent Buildings
• This attachment has replaced Attachment E1 - Building Envelope Systems and Components in its entirety.
• The number of Subchallenges for this attachment was reduced from 3 to 1.
Attachment E2 (formerly E4) – Thermal Storage
• This attachment has replaced Attachment E2 – GSHP Cost Compression in its entirety.
• Additional Subchallenges were added to this Challenge Area.
Other Attachments and Forms
• Attachment A – Proposal Narrative was updated to reflect Round 8 changes listed above.

The NYSERDA Advanced Buildings program seeks to reduce the energy use of NYS consumers through advancements in the performance and capabilities of economically viable building solutions. By supporting building innovations, the program will enable buildings to be more energy efficient, load flexible, and resilient. Many building innovations have the additional benefit of improved indoor air quality and quality of life for consumers, providing not only economic value, but improved occupant comfort as well.

This solicitation seeks to attract solutions that directly benefit low to moderate income and disadvantaged communities across NYS and it will focus resources on the successful commercialization of building innovations. In addition to articulating the technical innovation, proposers must describe their commercialization strategy, including: customer discovery and channel strategy, competitive landscape, intellectual property, fundraising needs, manufacturing and scale-up, key partners, and team qualifications and development.

Eligibility/Qualifications Requirements/Preferences:

NYSERDA seeks teaming arrangements that increases the probability of success and commercialization of technologies that yield New York State benefits. Teams may include commercial firms, manufactures, large original equipment manufacturers (OEM), industry associations, research organizations, universities, government agencies, end-users, and other stakeholders.
