The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) will issue challenges in 2024 that have been defined in collaboration with New York State’s Investor Owned Utilities (IOU) and NYSERDA internal teams. Each challenge presents an opportunity to improve the performance and validate value propositions for the electric power delivery system as it evolves with increasing renewable penetration. The challenges will describe outcomes the stakeholders are seeking to achieve operational goals that support the realization of the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA). The projects also help establish a pathway for products and services to gain market entry by addressing existing technical and economic barriers.

Eligibility/Qualifications Requirements/Preferences:

NYSERDA is accepting Full Proposals in the following categories:
Category A: Product Development, Up to $3 million in NYSERDA funding per award with 25% cost share requirement Category B: Demonstration Projects, Up to $3 million in NYSERDA funding per award with 25% cost share requirement
(a) For demonstration projects, the site must be in New York State.
(b) A New York State manufacturer should be on a new product development project.
