RFP # 1159 Kinship Caregiver Support ProgramsDescription: The New York State (NYS) Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) has released this Request For Proposals (RFP) to solicit applications from qualified applicants to provide Kinship Caregiver Support Programs (KCSP) to increase the state’s capacity to support and strengthen families and promote the permanency and well-being of children. Applicants must agree to provide required services to families in a minimum of two or more NYS counties and/or boroughs of New York City (NYC). Programs should be designed to meet the unique needs of kinship families, with a goal to maintain and support children residing in permanent households. The purpose of this RFP is to fund Kinship Caregiver Support Programs (KCSPs) to build statewide services for kinship families. The goal of funds awarded through this RFP is to provide effective, evidence-based services to kinship families. Applicants may apply for funding to start a new program or continue and enhance an existing program. The NYS Fiscal Year 2024-2025 State Budget is anticipated to appropriate $1.9 million to fund KCSPs. Each applicant may request up to $175,000 per year per application to serve a minimum of two or more NYS counties and/or boroughs of NYC. For the purpose of awards made from this RFP, OCFS will view each NYC borough as a county. Applicants may submit up to four proposals in response to this RFP and may receive a maximum of four awards. An applicant must submit separate proposals for each award being requested. If an applicant submits more than one proposal, each additional proposal submitted by the applicant must not duplicate the counties/boroughs proposed to be served in any of their other proposals submitted.
