Weiskotten Hall Courtyard Sculpture PadsDescription: The State University of New York at Upstate Medical University will receive sealed bids for Project Number. 1539, Titled Weiskotten Hall Courtyard Sculpture Pads until 2:00 p.m. local time on April 17, 2025 at: Delivered to: Ms. Ivy Lopez/Mrs. Jeanie Pender Contracts & Campus Purchasing SUNY Upstate Medical University Dr. Sarah Loguen Center, 2nd floor 650 South Salina Street, Room 2050 Syracuse, New York 13202 where such proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud. Proposals may be hand delivered or mailed to the above location and must be received at such time. Scope of work is to include all necessary labor, material, and equipment to construct two landscape bed areas within the northern and southern existing planting beds located in the inner courtyard at Weiskotten Hall. These areas will accommodate concrete pad bases for two statues we commissioned by an artist. The two sculpture areas will provide an ADA compliant pathway access to the statues, allowing students, staff, and visitors to interact with them without damaging the surrounding greenery. It is expected that both areas of work within the two proposed sculpture landscape beds shall be completed simultaneously in order to coordinate installation of both sculptures on the same day by the artist’s installation crew. All work will need to be complete within 60 days from the notice to proceed. All work on this Contract is to be completed within 60 calendar days after the date of the Notice to Proceed. Section 143 of the State Finance Law requires payment of a deposit to receive these documents. Accordingly, a deposit check of $49.00, made payable to SUNY Upstate Medical University, is required. Deposits less than $50.00 are nonrefundable. Deposits will be waived for certified Minority and Women Owned and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses. A site visit to the area where the work is to be performed has been deemed to be necessary to fully understand the parameters and constraints which affect the preparation of the bid for the same. A mandatory site visit has been scheduled for March 28, 2025 at 10:00 AM with all contractors. All contractor will met in the main lobby of Weiskotten Hall. All potential bidders are advised that they must sign a “Site Visit Form” to verify that they have complied with this requirement of the contract. Failure to fulfill this requirement will disqualify your bid proposal.
