CONTRACT 1 – GENERAL CONSTRUCTION

will be received by the Town Clerk at the following address:

Until 11:00 AM local time on Friday September 13, 2024 and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.

The Project generally consists of the following work:

The project site is located in the Port Ben Neighborhood on the east side of the Rondout Creek in the Town of Wawarsing, NY. The work for the bid will include the installation of approximately 5,600 LF of 8” and 6” water main, valves, fire hydrants, individual water service connections, and all appurtenances.

This work will be awarded as one (1) single prime contract.

The Bid will be received on a unit price basis with unit prices and alternates, if included on the Bid Form.

The work shall be substantially completed within five (5) months of the Notice to Proceed.

The Bid should not include sales and compensating use taxes on materials incorporated into the work.

If the Bid is actually received by mail or by hand after the appointed time on the date specified it shall be rejected, notwithstanding that such Bid may have been placed in a mail box or other mail receptacle regularly maintained by the United States Postal Service before such time, and ordinarily in sufficient time to have been delivered on time.

Bid security in the amount of 5% of the Bid must accompany the Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price. Bidders will also be required to furnish a Non-Collusive Affidavit.

Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the issuing office Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the issuing office as described below. Bidding Documents may also be examined at the Town Clerk office located at 108 Canal Street, Ellenville, NY 12428, Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Bidding documents may also be requested at the Wawarsing Water District project website at: https://wwdistrict.com

Bidding Documents for this Project in electronic PDF format may be requested from LaBella Associates at no charge via e-mail to the Issuing Office, Town or project website. If Bidder specifically require a copy of the Bidding Documents on a compact disk (CD) to be mailed, a $35.00, non-refundable payment must be provided to cover shipping and handling. Mail order request must include a cover letter specifically indicating which bidding documents are being sought and a check payable to “LaBella Associates” for shipping and handling.

Note that only bidders who procure Bidding Documents from and are registered with LaBella Associates will receive notification of Addenda.

The Bidders must comply with New York State Department of Labor Prevailing Wage Rate Schedule and conditions of employment.

Attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements for ensuring that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin.

A pre-bid conference for the project will be held on Wednesday September 4, 2024 at 10:00 AM local time at the Town of Wawarsing Lippman Park located at 29 George Young Blvd, Wawarsing, NY 12489. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is encouraged but not required to submit a bid.

The Town of Wawarsing as Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in the Bid received, or to reject any Bid without explanation.
