McDonald Building Roof Replacement


Description:

State University of New York College at Cortland will receive sealed Proposals for project number 20180036, titled McDonald Building Roof Replacement, on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. where they will be opened and read aloud via Webex conference. Proposals may be delivered to the Facilities Planning, Design and Construction office, 219 Whitaker Hall, Cortland, NY 13045 or sent electronically to Juanita Larrabee at Juanita.larrabee@cortland.edu. Electronic bids will be received Oct. 8, 2020 starting at 1:30 p.m. local time. Please provide an email address if you would like an invitation to the bid opening. All work on this contract is to be substantially completed by Nov. 30, 2020.

The scope of this work includes: removal and replacement of the flat roof areas of the building, minor abatement, masonry repointing and carpentry. The anticipated budget for this project is $200,000.

The bidding and contract documents may be obtained by contacting Syracuse Blueprint Co. 825 E. Genesee Street Syracuse, NY 13210, 315-476-4084.  Section 143 of the State Finance Law requires payment of a deposit to receive these documents.  Accordingly, a deposit check in the amount of $45.00 is required.  Deposits of $50.00 or less are non-refundable.

A pre-bid meeting will be held on Friday, Sept. 25 at 11 a.m. at the McDonald Building, 60 Tompkins Street, Cortland. Everyone attending must wear a face covering. All questions can be directed to Gary Miller, 607-745-8437 or gary.miller@cortland.edu.

Bids must be submitted in accordance with the instructions contained in the Information for Bidders, completed Bid Bonds with Acknowledgement.  A Bid Security will be required for each bid in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the Total Bid.  It is the policy of the State of New York and the State University of New York to encourage minority and women?owned business enterprise participation in this project by contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and all bidders are required to make a good faith effort to meet M/WBE goals as follows:  15% MBE 15% WBE and 10% minority workforce and 10% female workforce.

Pursuant to New York State Executive Law Article 17-B, SUNY recognizes its obligation under the law to promote meaningful participation in public procurement by Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses (SDVOBs).  It is the policy of the State of New York and State University of New York to encourage Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses (SDVOB) participation in this project by contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and vendors.  All bidders are required to make a good faith effort to meet a 6% SDVOB goal.
