NY-Sun Incentive/and or Financing Program


Description:

Effective August 1, 2018 the submission deadline for all NYSERDA solicitations will be changed from 5:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please note only the time is changing, and all due dates remain as indicated on each solicitation.

PON 2112 has been revised.
(1) Complete redesign and restructure of Program Manual
(2) Program Manual now incorporates the following rule changes:
• Customer Signature is no longer required on project invoices for Residential projects, with a few exceptions. Projects utilizing GJGNY financing, Affordable Solar incentive and non-residential projects will still be required to obtain customer signature on the project invoice(s).
• Electrical inspection certificate is no longer required with the project invoice submission (Electrical inspection certificate is required by the utility in order to obtain PTO or interconnection letter)
• All Residential projects will be required to utilize 100% project invoice request (75% / 25% two payment option is no longer available for Residential projects only). Non-residential projects may continue to utilize the 75% / 25% OR 100% project invoice request.
• The project completion timeline will change from 210 days to 365 days of the project Approval date.
• Project extensions will be granted only in circumstances beyond the Contractors control and must include proof backing up the reason for the extension. Residential projects may utilize only 1 – 90-day project extension. Non-residential projects may utilize 2 – 180-day project extensions. NY-Sun will be strictly enforcing this rule.
• PSEG Long Island Small Commercial MW Block project incentive cap will increase from 200kW nameplate capacity to 500kW.

Eligibility/Qualifications Requirements/Preferences

 

Standard incentive - Cash incentives are available for qualified customers who wish to install PV systems through applications submitted by a Participating Contractor.   A Participating Contractor has signed a Participation Agreement (with NYSERDA, agreeing to abide by Program terms and conditions).  Affordable Solar additional incentive - Additional incentives for solar PV installations are available for customer households who qualify as low-to-moderate income.  The additional incentive matches or doubles the standard incentive and can apply for up to 6kW of the total system size.  The Participating Contractor or Builder is responsible for preparing and submitting all necessary project application and incentive paperwork to NYSERDA.
