NY-Sun Residential & Nonresidential Incentive Program

Effective  June 16, 2020 PON 2112 has been revised

1. NY-Sun Program Manuals have been updated to include the following:
The NY-Sun Program is proposing the following changes:
• Updated eligibility requirements for the following Incentive Adders:Affordable Solar Residential Incentive Adder, Multifamily Affordable Housing Incentive Adder (incentive rate increased), Community Adder Incentive, & Landfill/Brownfield Incentive Adder
• Clarified language that Long Island (PSEG) residential and nonresidential MW Blocks have been fully subscribed. Only financing, LMI and PV + Storage incentives are still available in this region.
• Added requirement that in order for a company to be eligible to apply to participate in the NY-Sun Program, applicant must be registered with NYS Department of Public Service as a Distributed Energy Resource (DER) provider.
• Clarified language on the Notice of Intent (NOI) process for commercial/industrial projects located in agricultural districts
• Updated language in Quality Assurance section to point contractors/builders to the detailed Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures document posted on the NY-Sun website.
• Updated Solar Plus Energy Storage language to state residential projects are now eligible to retrofit storage.
• Clarified language that all projects must comply with the New York State Uniform Codes.

Eligibility/Qualifications Requirements/Preferences:

 Standard incentive - Cash incentives are available for qualified customers who wish to install PV systems through applications submitted by a Participating Contractor. A Participating Contractor has signed a Participation Agreement (with NYSERDA, agreeing to abide by Program terms and conditions). Affordable Solar additional incentive - Additional incentives for solar PV installations and solar PV installations paired with an energy storage system are available for customer households who qualify as low-to-moderate income. The Participating Contractor or Builder is responsible for preparing and submitting all necessary project application and incentive paperwork to NYSERDA.
