New York State Maternal Mortality ReviewsDescription: Through this Request for Proposals (“RFP”) the New York State Department of Health’s (NYSDOH) Office of Public Health (OPH); Center for Community Health, and Division of Family Health is seeking competitive proposals from qualified bidders to support the work of the Department’s Maternal Mortality Review Initiative by performing state mandated maternal mortality case review, abstraction, presentation and informant interviews for the New York State (NYS) Maternal Mortality Review Board (MMRB) under the Maternal Mortality Review Initiative (MMRI). It is the Department’s intent to award one (1) contract from this procurement. The Maternal Mortality Review Initiative identifies potential pregnancy-associated deaths through various data sources, gathers records for each death, abstracts information for entry into a complex external data system, prepares case summaries, case presentation and performs informant interviews to obtain additional information about the case. The Contractor will review and abstract all available case information, such as birth and death certificate data, prenatal care records, hospital records, autopsy reports, social service records, and informant interviews (voluntary information, including oral or written statements, relating to any maternal death and case of severe maternal morbidity, from any family member or other interested party) into an extensive data system as identified by the Department and develop Maternal Mortality Review Board (MMRB) review materials, including a case narrative, for each case.
