Tire and Repair Contract.

Description of Goods or Services to Be Bid: This solicitation is for a contract for tires, repairs, replacements and emergency road services for DOB Non-Revenue vehicles (Trucks, Passenger Vehicles and Non-fixed Equipment) with NYCTA and MTABC in accordance with the contract documents. Contractor shall repair all repairable tires, including those transported by the Authority to the Contractor’s repair facility, by using hot patches unless otherwise approved by the Project Manager. Repairs shall include mounting, dismounting, and balancing of tires. Where one or more tires are repaired during an emergency road service request, the Authority may, at its discretion, arrange for the repaired tire(s) to be balanced by the Contractor at the Contractor’s facility.  As part of the tire repair process under this Contract, the Contractor shall install loose wheel nut indicators (aka wheel flags) on the wheels regardless of the size of the wheels on all medium and heavy-duty vehicles.
