Contract Number: RF-BNY-RFP-Battery Electrode Material Mixing Line |
Battery Electrode Material Mixing Lines (40 l)
Description:
Battery-NY is seeking equipment capable of mixing wet, semi-dry, or dry anode and cathode materials for battery electrode manufacturing, with a single batch capacity of up to 40 l. To prevent cross-contamination, materials will be prepared and mixed on separate anode and cathode lines, with each line typically consisting of the following: ? Glovebox system – Ensures dust-free storage, dosing, and weighing of dry powder materials. ? Liquid storage and dosing system(s) – Ensures localized storage and precise, controlled transfer of liquids into the mixing vessel. ? Mixer – Facilitates efficient and thorough mixing of dry powders and liquids, resulting in a homogeneous mix. ? Storage tanks and transfer station – Used for storage, agitation, and transfer of mixed materials to subsequent processes, such as coating. ? Particulate filtration, oxygen depletion, NMP and dew point monitoring systems – Ensures capture of airborne particulates, detection of gases and NMP, and measurement of dew point at key areas. The mixing lines will include a suite of quality control equipment and log key process and quality data to a data storage system via an IT interface. Incoming materials are to be scanned, while outgoing mixes will receive a unique identifier for tracking and tracing purposes. The main requirements are summarized in the following sections. The machine must be fully installed and operational, with the UAT (User Acceptance Test) completed on or before the date specified in Section 1. This will facilitate the seamless completion of all upstream and downstream process activities within the planned timeframe, ensuring the provision of necessary materials for subsequent activities. For instance, slurries produced by the mixing lines are required to test the follow- on reel-to-reel coating equipment. Any project delays must be avoided, as they will impact downstream processes and ultimately the final project completion date. Note: Area rules, regulations, codes, and standards shall take precedence over these requirements, with the purchaser informed in advance of any deviations. Sections 4.2 through 4.7 outline the main requirements for anode electrode mixing line. The cathode mixing line equipment is expected to be similar; however, any differences, such as ATEX requirements, should be clearly highlighted in the bidder’s proposal
