Adult Forensic ACT and Treatment Apartment ProgramDescription: The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) is pleased to announce the availability of capital and operating funding for a single agency to develop one (1) 68-capacity Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) team along with one(1) 30- unit Treatment Apartment Program(TAP) dedicated to the FACT team. Both the residence (TAP) and the FACT team must be in the New York City Region. This program is designed to better meet the mental health and housing needs of the SMI population involved in the criminal justice system. The Forensic ACT team will serve justice-involved individuals with a serious mental illness (SMI) who have not been successfully engaged by the traditional mental health treatment and rehabilitation system. Thirty (30) TAP units will be developed and dedicated to 30 individuals receiving services from the FACT team. Additionally, the FACT team may serve others in the agency’s spectrum of housing and vice versa.
