Description:
The University at Buffalo ("University") is New York State's flagship university, one of the premier research-intensive public universities in the United States and a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities. The University has over 32,000 students enrolled in over 450 degreed programs. Currently, there are more than 260,000 alumni taking leadership roles in communities and businesses throughout the United States, 135,000 in New York State, and in 148 countries around the world. The University employs more than 6,000 faculty and staff on three campuses in Western New York.
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE:
The University at Buffalo intends to purchase Uniform Apparel for Facilities from a contract awarded by E&I Cooperative Services pursuant to its authority under section 163 (3) (vi), which authorizes the purchase of commodities from a consortium or comparable entity in lieu of using a centralized contract and without a formal competitive process when justified by price. SCOPE OF REQUEST: The scope of this Ad is to collect information from vendors on garments that meet the form, function, and utility of the trade's workers. Facilities workers have a wide range of activities, which may include inside and outside work during extreme cold and extreme hot conditions. The university is looking to gather garments options for the following types of apparel:
• Athletic Tee Shirts • Athletic Long Sleeve Shirts • High Visibility Tee Shirts • High Visibility ¼ Zip Sweatshirts • High Visibility Crew Neck Sweatshirts • Dry Wicking Polo Shirts • Fleece ¼ Zip Jackets • Fleece Sweatshirts • Work Pants (including cargo) • Work Shorts (including cargo) • Button Down Dress Shirts (long and short sleeve) • Hats (knit beanies, caps, and baseball
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENT:
• Material: Tee shirts and long sleeve shirts should contain over 30%microfiber content. • Durability: Garments must resist fading and shrinking with weekly washing. • Gender-Specific Apparel: Required for polos, pants, shorts, and dress shirts. • Size Range: X-small to 6 XL. • Color Preference: Blue spectrum, preferably Navy Blue or White. • Logo: University official logo required on t-shirts, polos, fleece, dress shirts, and hats (either embroidered or silk-screened). Suppliers should identify the type of embossing the garment will accept. Embroidery and silk screening are not required for the purposes of this Ad. University at Buffalo Trademark license details for vendors.
