2026 – 2031 Community Well Water Treatment, Testing, and Maintenance Service in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua and Erie CountiesDescription: OPWDD's Contract Management Unit for Western NY DDSOO is soliciting sealed bids from responsible and qualified contractors to provide Community Well Water Treatment, Testing, and Maintenance for seventeen sites throughout Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, and southern Erie counties. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to: The Contractor must perform annual water testing and provide services necessary to maintain the water treatment systems in these sites. The Contractor shall provide weekly maintenance and monitoring for the water systems, including but not limited to, the furnishing and loading of all required chemicals, monitoring and adjusting of chlorination and peroxide systems, supplies, equipment, materials, tools, and labor necessary or advisable for the operation of said systems. The Contractor will provide yearly water test reports for each site to ensure suitable treatment of the systems. Contractor must be available to respond to emergency calls 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Contractors shall provide emergency service within three (3) hours of receipt of a request for such services by telephone or otherwise from OPWDD. References, experience, financial resources, and applicable insurances are required. Contract will be awarded to the responsible and responsive bidder(s) that provide the lowest Total Annual Estimated Well Water Treatment, Testing, and Maintenance Cost per Cluster. Prevailing wage will apply. Effective December 30, 2024, in order to be qualified to work on public works projects covered by Article 8 of the Labor Law, all Contractors (including Subcontractors) must be registered with the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) in accordance with Labor Law § 220-i. Contractors must be registered before submitting a bid. In addition, Contractors must be registered prior to commencing any new work.
