Legal 1B Insurance Defense Outside Counsel Services

NYSIF is seeking proposals from qualified firms capable of providing Insurance Defense Outside Counsel Services, as further described in the Request for Proposals (RFP). Bidders should be qualified firms that have knowledge and experience in civil litigation, specifically in the areas of personal injury defense and insurance coverage issues. Services include representing and defending NYSIF insureds in personal injury actions brought by their employees, as counsel retained by NYSIF’s General Attorney.

It is the sole responsibility of the bidders to check the website for any amendments, clarifications or updates. All applicable amendment information must be incorporated into the firm’s proposal. Failure to include this information in your proposal may result in the proposal being deemed non-responsive.

Proposals from responsible bidders are due 4/4/2025 by 2:00 p.m. EST. The calendar of events is detailed in the RFP.

Pursuant to State Finance Law § 139-j and § 139-k, this solicitation includes and imposes certain restrictions on communications between NYSIF personnel and a prospective bidder during the procurement process.
