Recruitment of Medical Director (Psychiatrist)

BACKGROUND
Tompkins County Whole Health provides comprehensive mental health services to the community, addressing a wide range of needs through its clinic, which offers both scheduled and same-day Open Access treatment. Services include adult therapy, utilizing evidence-based practices through various therapeutic modalities, and specialized children and youth therapy designed to support families and youth affected by mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and trauma.

The Clinic also offers forensic services tailored for justice-involved individuals, including the SOAR and EMERGE programs, and a Re-entry Program for individuals transitioning from the Tompkins County Jail. Psychiatric services are provided by licensed psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners, who conduct psychiatric evaluations, ongoing medication management, and medication therapy, including the administration of long-acting injectables.

The role of the Medical Director is integral to ensuring the quality and effectiveness of these services. The Medical Director oversees complex psychiatric cases, supervises psychiatric nurse practitioners, provides clinical leadership to nursing and other staff, coordinates forensic responsibilities, and collaborates with external providers to ensure comprehensive care. The position requires expertise in psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and leadership within a public mental health clinic setting.

Tompkins County Whole Health is seeking a qualified recruitment firm to identify and recruit experienced psychiatrists to fill this vital Medical Director role.

The firm should be prepared to examine the aspects of Civil Service and prepare appropriate strategies based on those opportunities and limitations. PURPOSE OF REQUEST

To assist in identifying and securing a qualified psychiatrist to serve as the Medical Director of the Tompkins County Mental Health Clinic, the Whole Health department is soliciting proposals for a recruitment firm with experience recruiting psychiatric and government positions.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

Tompkins County Whole Health is seeking an experienced recruitment firm to identify and secure a qualified psychiatrist to serve as the Medical Director of the Tompkins County Mental Health Clinic. Primary objectives for the selected recruitment firm are to:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy
• Source qualified candidates from diverse and comprehensive pools and networks
• Secure a qualified candidate via effective candidate engagement, assessment, and hiring procedures
