Study for Campus-Wide ADA ImprovementsDescription: Scope of ServicesBackground
SUNY New Paltz is soliciting proposals for design consultant services to perform a campus-wide Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance study and to produce a summary report including an implementation plan to address identified deficiencies.
The study will identify all ADA non-compliant conditions in non-residential buildings and shall include assessments of accessible routes from parking lots to all buildings and key destinations such as the dining hall and playing fields. Residence hall interiors are not included in the study. However, accessible routes to the face of residential buildings (including entry doors) are included.
The final report will prioritize the remediation of non-compliant conditions and provide an order of magnitude cost to ameliorate them. Project prioritization will be determined based on student, faculty and staff use of buildings, public use, and overall levels of non-compliance within a building. Final prioritization of projects will also be coordinated with the University’s Campus Capital Plan.
