Forest Health Rapid ResponseDescription: The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (hereinafter referred to as the Department) is soliciting bids for long term control and management project of forest pest-infested and diseased trees. The contractor will provide field support to cut down trees for the maintenance and improvement of broader forest health, in response to new forest pest infestation, focused primarily on southern pine beetle suppression, in forested areas of the Department’s Region 1 (Nassau and Suffolk counties). For this contract, bids are being obtained prior to the conception of individual jobs, so the Contractor will be able to respond rapidly to the job needs as they arise. Traditional contracts require DEC to mark the trees then put a job out to bid under an individual contract. However, this process will not work with many forest pest-infested and diseased trees because by the time the contract is executed the pests or diseases may have killed the marked trees and spread to new trees. Proposers shall adhere to the NYS DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION GUIDELINES REGARDING PERMISSIBLE CONTACTS DURING A PROCUREMENT AND THE PROHIBITION OF INAPPROPRIATE LOBBYING INFLUENCE. All correspondence and/or questions relating to this IFB should be directed to the Department’s designated contact person. Please note, telegraphic or other electronically transferred bids are not acceptable. Due Date: 10/20/2025 11:00 AMContract Term: 11/1/2025 - 10/31/2030 Location: Ad Type: General
