FACILITIES MASTER PLAN - STUDY

Description:

Consultant services are required to provide a comprehensive Facilities Master Plan (FMP) for the State University of New York College at Maritime.  The Facilities Master Plan will guide the Campus in identifying, prioritizing, and structuring future project requests for capital funding.  The FMP shall address the projected capital facilities improvement needs of SUNY Maritime for a ten-year period.

The previous comprehensive Facilities Master Plan was completed in 2011, with an abbreviated update in 2015. In order to guide the decision process for future programmatic and space changes, it is important to complete another comprehensive Facilities Master Plan. While the Consultant can refer back to the 2011 and 2015 reports, this latest FMP should not be considered an update to either.

The Study shall consist of five phases and are as follows:

  • Phase I: Campus Profile: The selected Consultant should include information on the campus’ historical background, academic and strategic mission, statistical data and its facilities and grounds.
  • Phase II: Assessment of Existing Conditions, Update:  The selected Consultant shall assess the physical and operating condition of the campus facilities and grounds.
  • Phase III: Analysis of Space Needs:  The selected Consultant shall compile and analyze the current and future programmatic needs of the Campus. This includes comparing the calculated requirements (based on SUNY and industry standards) with current space utilization and evaluating the ability of the existing space inventory to accommodate those needs.
  • Phase IV: Provide Facilities Master Plan Concept Alternatives:  The selected Consultant should provide three concept alternatives for the Facilities Master Plan using the information collected in the first three Phases.
  • Phase V: Provide Facilities Master Plan Final Recommendation:  The selected Consultant shall address comments and issues raised by the stakeholders related to the Phase IV concept alternatives to develop a Final Campus-Preferred Option for the Facilities Master Plan.

The selected Consultant shall provide a thorough compilation of information aimed at offering a detailed vision for the next ten years.
