Replacement of Four Rod Road Bridge over Little Buffalo Creek


Description:

Sealed proposals for federal aid full bridge replacement project including: new abutments on spread footings, steel grinders, bearings, deck railings, and approaches, will be received at the Erie County DPW-Division of Highways at 95 Franklin Street, 14th floor, Room 1419A, Buffalo, New York, until 10:00 a.m. local time, THURSDAY, MARCH 27, 2025.

Plans, instructions for bidders, bid sheets, and special provisions may be downloaded Thursday, March 6, 2025 through bid date, from the Erie.gov website http://www2.erie.gov/dpw/, ON-LINE BID RETRIEVAL, or examined in person between 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. EST, at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Public Works, Highways, 95 Franklin Street, 14th floor, Buffalo, New York.

Bids will not be accepted unless the bid package is downloaded directly from www.erie.gov/dpw so that contact information is captured by ECDPW for bid addenda and communication. If a prospective bidder is not registered as a bidder with the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Public Works, Highways by virtue of his/her downloading of plans, then notices of subsequent contract-related meetings, appropriate contract addenda, or other significant matters related to the contract proposal or bid will not be communicated to said prospective bidder.

Pre-let meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 10:00 am local time at the Erie County Department of Public Works Highways Conference Room 1419A, 95 Franklin Street, 14th floor, Buffalo, NY 14202.

Each bid or proposal must be accompanied by bidder's certified check, as bid deposit, payable to the "County of Erie" in the amount of $110,000.00 (one hundred and ten thousand dollars).

Copies of the New York State Specifications may be obtained from the Regional Offices of the New York State Department of Transportation, Division of Highways and its’ website.

Attention of bidders is particularly called to the Special Instructions and Special Specifications accompanying the Itemized Proposal, including but not limited to Federal, State and County contract forms, NYSDOL Certificate of Contractor Registration NYS Vendor Responsibility Form CCA-2 A/B/C, OSHA Training certifications, Davis-Bacon Federal and/or NYSDOL Minimum Wage Rates to be paid under the proposed contract, and the schedules as certified for the particular contract. Minority Workforce, NYS Apprenticeship Program, 5% Disadvantaged Business Enterprise participation goals and requirements may apply.

The successful bidder will be required to execute the contract and comply in all respects with Highway Law and local laws governing the awarding of the contract. Completion is anticipated by November 30, 2025.

 The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, if deemed in the best interest of Erie County.
