Meeting Space - NTA Site - Albany, NY - February NYS Bar Exam (2026-2028)


Description:

The Board intends to contract with a vendor for the provision of meeting room space in the Albany, NY area for candidates receiving non-standard testing accommodations (NTA) for the February 2025 New York State bar examination. The purpose of testing accommodations is to give reasonable access to the bar exam to candidates with disabilities.

The requirements are as follows:
(1) Eight (8) group rooms that can fit between 5 and 20 people in a
classroom style setting.
(2) Three to four (3 to 4) smaller rooms to hold up to two (2) people
each (for private room testing; that is, one examinee and a proctor).
(3) The facility must be located within close proximity to public
transportation.
(4) Dates are: (Monday is setup day; Tuesday through Friday are testing days)
2026 Monday, February 23 through Friday, February 27
2027 Monday, February 22 through Friday, February 26
2028 Monday, February 21 (Presidents’ Day) through Friday, February 25

(5) The Board and its representatives will arrive at the location on
Monday to set up/inspect the meeting space. The Board must have
exclusive access to the meeting space from 6:00AM on Monday through
6:00PM on Friday, without interruption.
(6) Candidates must be seated at tables 6 feet in length.
(7) Tables must be smooth top, suitable for writing with pen and
pencil. If the bidder is unable to supply the required tables, please state
so on the bid sheet in the “Notes” section.
(6) Room must be available for a proctor chair and table in every
room.
(7) Room must be available for a headquarters area consisting of at
least one long table able to seat at least two people.

(8) Room must be available for a Personal Belongings Area where
candidates will leave coats, backpacks, etc. during the examination.
(9) The rented space must be quiet, suitable for testing, and
equipped with adequate lighting, HVAC, and restrooms.
(10) The facility must be able to provide electrical wiring (i.e. power
strips, outlets) to EVERY candidate seat.
(11) All vendors must adhere to any social distancing requirements and
limitations on density.

The facility must: (1) be accessible to individuals with disabilities; (2) have
adequate lighting for testing; (3) have adequate HVAC; (4) have adequate
restrooms accessible to persons with disabilities.
